I almost got fired.

Yes it's true. I ALMOST got fired, so here is the story:

A few weeks ago, my co-worker tipped over my cups while I was getting ready to serve (I'm a product demonstrator or what many people call, a sample lady). I jokingly was going to swear at him but instead I called him a cunt. Yes. A cunt. My co-worker was not offended, on the other hand, this woman who looked like she was in her 60s (gray hair) passed by and said "wow, that was very discrete for the customers" and walked away. Next thing I know the manager pulls me aside and tells me to go home, telling me this is a family oriented environment. She also said that most likely I was going to receive a letter in the mail (which means termination of employment). So... I almost got fired for saying cunt. Later on, my supervisor notified me that I was only suspended.


So today I went job-hunting with my bestie Lauren, we applied to stores at an outdoor mall close to my house and then decided to travel to the other side of town and apply to more places. I was running out of resumes so we went to Staples to photocopy more but I didn't have any change so we had to scrounge in her wallet for a dollar. We had enough silver coins that made up 95 cents, then she spots and shouts "LIZ! GET THE PENNY! GET THE PENNY! GET THE PENNY!!!". Confused as to why she was so excited for a damn penny, I picked it up and she pulled out four more pennies from her wallet. Thus, one whole dollar. We didn't know how to work the photocopier so we waited until a worker came by to assist us. This well-built Oriental guy in a black fitted T-shirt with six ear piercings passes us and walks behind the counter. Lauren turns to me and says "So um... YOU'RE applying to Staples ;)". That made my day!

I handed out about 15 resumes today, hopefully at least one of them will give me a call for an interview. Although I am not fired, I want to be able to go back to work so when they ask for my availability I can reply and leave with this statement, "Sorry. I can't work anymore. While I was suspended I found a new job so you can go f*ck yourselves you cunts. I quit"
